After 14 consecutive days of Whole Body Cryotherapy, BEN WHITE opens up his Cryo Journal. He shares how it’s transformed his physiology, his first Alchemy Cryo memory, his Pro ‘Cryo’ Tip and more.

1. I discovered Alchemy Cryo when…

I heard of many athletes overseas using Cryo for recovery and Joe Rogan talking about it regularly on his podcast. Jules Loh (Alchemy Cryo) and I have been training together for well over a year now and when the Alchemy team opened up the centre, I was definitely interested to explore it's benefits and was one the first few to give it a shot.

2. My first Alchemy Cryo memory…

I was very nervous but excited, thinking what has Jules got me into? Haha!

The first thing I remember feeling when I got out of the chamber was the amazing rush of endorphins and how energised I felt.

3. Why I love to Cryo…

I tell everyone I speak to about Cryotherapy. I say it's the reset button for your body and mind.

It has been an absolute game changer for my training, work and general wellbeing. And also for my fighters and their recovery.

4. Why I decided to do 14 consecutive days of Whole Body Cryo…

I had experimented with single sessions, doubles, once a week, few times a week sessions. Trying to find the right combination for me, The Alchemy team suggested I give the 14 days a go.

5. On Day 1, I felt…

Like I was taking on a new challenge. I was excited to see what was going to happen over the next 14 days and how I was going to feel afterwards.

6. After 1 week, I felt…

Super energised! I was training harder, and recovering super quick. I pushed myself to train everyday, multiple sessions per day of BJJ, Strength and Conditioning and pad holding for my clients and fighters.

7. On Day 14, I felt…

Like I accomplished a goal. Was relieved it was my last session as the last few days became a little harder to find the will power to put myself in the chamber but always felt great once I got out.

8. Before I entered the Cryo Chamber, I typically felt…

Excited to get into the chamber, was like I was addicted to it haha. But as the days went on I did find it a little harder to push myself to get in (day 11 was the hardest) but knew I would feel great after.

Re-energised. Like a brand new person.

 10. My favourite benefits of completing 14 consecutive days of Whole Body Cryo...

  • The endless amount of stamina I felt I had for training and work.

  • The awesome quality of sleep I was getting and waking feeling refreshed each day.

  • My metabolism speed up so much that I had to start eating more and more each day.

  • I was leaning out and dropped body fat whilst maintaining heaps of strength.

  • I even noticed my skin was clearer and people commented on how fresh I looked.

 

11. My favourite Cryo Song(s) during the 14 Days…

Still Dre – Dr. Dre. Why? I have no idea but its sounds great in the chamber. Pretty sure the Alchemy team were sick of hearing it haha.

Push yourself to train hard and see the benefits of Cryotherapy. And if you haven’t done it yet... DO IT!

13. My go-to post-Cryo snack or meal…

I found I was always hungry after a Cryo Session so I tried to eat something healthy and nutritious.

15. My nutrition regime during the 14 Days…

I try generally to eat fairly healthy and eat wholes foods. I eat mainly Vegetarian with seafood on the occasion. I didn’t change my diet but did find I had to eat more regularly to keep up with my training and the cryo sessions.

16. My training regime during the 14 Days…

I trained BJJ at least 6 to 7 times a week with multiple sessions per day on 3 of those days. On the other days I completed my strength and conditioning sessions. On top of my own training, I was training clients and fighters which is also quite physically demanding.
